Africa Digital Skills Conference 2022 To Commence in November

Press Release

Sept. 13, 2022, 1:54 p.m.

Mobile Web Ghana and its partners (conference organizers) present the 3rd edition of the Africa Digital Skills Conference. The Africa Digital Skills Conference (#ADSC2022) is a three-day virtual Conference that will create a platform for both knowledge sharers and knowledge seekers to connect, share information and learn Digital Skills. The conference, which will be facilitated in English and French, is scheduled to take place from 8th to 10th November 2022 and is fully virtual.

According to the publication Digital Skills in Sub-Saharan Africa, Spotlight on Ghana by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), "in Sub-Saharan Africa, over 230 million jobs will require digital skills by 2030, resulting in almost 650 million training opportunities”. Therefore, this presents a wealth of opportunities to people who have acquired digital skills; however, those who have yet to acquire such skills cannot take advantage of the opportunities. This is the gap that we seek to close with this conference.

The Africa Digital Skills Conference will focus on basic, intermediate, and advanced skills training based on the following objectives.

  1. To promote the teaching and learning of digital skills across the African continent.
  2. To develop a common vision on digital skills needed, challenges, and ways to overcome them. 3. To create a critical mass of individuals/organizations with foundational digital skills required to bridge the skills gap in the corporate world.
  3. To contribute to creating a real platform for digital skills networks and connections.
  4. Build a solid digital foundation for Africa's economies.
