In the few years to come, Ghana will have a gender-balanced community in the digital industry, with some tech companies; Ghana Tech Lab and Soronko Academy pitching in to ensure that females are allowed to be trained with digital skills.

Currently, about 340 females are undergoing a Post-pre-tech Engagement Program, a digital-focused program that aims to equip Ghanaian females with competent skills for dignified job opportunities.

Organized by the companies mentioned above and with support from Mastercard Foundation, World Bank, and Ministry of Communications, the post-pre-tech engagement program will prepare these females for the Base Innovation Program, an advanced form of the pre-tech program.

According to a statement released by GTL and cited by the Digital Times, women face challenges of not being able to go through such programs till the end because of how advanced it is for them.

The statement indicated that to provide a solution for this, they organized the program to impact the women with the necessary knowledge and skills to bridge the gap.

The initiative, the company stated is a collaborative effort to develop women in their personal and career growth.

The curriculum has been shaped in a gender-sensitive manner enough to gain the interest of young girls.

In addition to the training given to them, the females have been included in the Ghana Ladies in Tech Community, a community of female entrepreneurs whose aim is to empower ladies, especially in the tech space to promote innovation, creativity, and job creation.

The pre-tech program ended on 19th March 2021 which trained 360 females and had 340 trainees graduate successfully.
