MEST Collaborates with hapaSpace To Host The MEST Express Accelerator In Kumasi

April 19, 2022, 12:46 a.m.

MEST is poised to bring the MEST Express acceleration program to Kumasi. In collaboration with hapaSpace, a co-working space in Kumasi, MEST Express is an acceleration program that provides investment-readiness support to early and growth-stage startups in Ghana.

It is designed to deliver hands-on business interventions focused on rapid practical application and observable business outcomes. The program works with founders to ensure their businesses are poised for growth and increased impact.

Early-stage startups in Ghana often face difficulties accessing and utilising growth capital that will enable them to develop and sell competitive products and drive good traction and revenue while managing their day-to-day operations.

Hence, after the 20 weeks of hands-on expert-led workshops and mentorship, startups in each cohort have the opportunity to participate in a pitching session where top-performing ventures receive equity-free grant funding.

Top-performing ventures will also receive equity-free grant funding to accelerate their growth journey.

The following are the eligibility criteria:

  • Pre-seed or seed-stage (have raised $100k total or less cumulatively since inception)
  • Currently generating revenue
  • Can demonstrate traction
  • Has been in operation for 1-3 years
  • Digital or tech-enabled
  • Any business model (B2B, B2C, B2B2C, B2G, etc.)
  • Any industry
  • Registered business
  • Preference is given to startups with women co-founders

Applications are currently open for our acceleration program for early and growth-stage startups in Kumasi. Preference will be given to startups with at least one woman founder.
